I had a dream that i worked at some Italian restaurant. That felt familiar but also i was kind of new there. In the dream this one table was taking photos of eachother. & at this table for 4. One man took a photo of this woman with his digital camera and she disappeared. They were asking where she went. & everyone wS freaking out including the owner. I told them to stop taking photos and not to take any photos of me. I hid under a table so they wouldn’t take any photos of me. But they kept taking photos around the restaurant. Once I got up from behind the table the orginal girl who disappeared was there, but she was acting very strange like she was possessed. So i started saying in front of everyone to the lady possesssed. “In the name of the son, holy father and the spirit i comman you to come out. In the name of Jesus Christ i command you to leave this girls body” and everytime i repeat Jesus Christ name you can see her face change more and more into what ever was possing her. I asked the demon inside her for his name which he had to give and i just kept repeating Jesus Christ. I told them that demons can’t stand his name. I can’t exactly remember what happened after, but I think the demon calmed down but was still inside her, and I was telling everyone in the restaurant not to say my name because I didn’t want to do the demon to know. Anyways, it was really strange. I didn’t feel like a nightmare, but it was very strange.
Your dream is rich with symbolism and elements that can be analyzed to gain insight into your subconscious mind and current emotional state. Let's break it down:
Setting - Italian Restaurant: The setting of the dream, an Italian restaurant, suggests familiarity and comfort, possibly reflecting a space where you feel at home or connected, yet also new as you mentioned. This dual feeling might mirror your current feelings in waking life where you feel torn between comfort in familiar settings but also being in a new phase or situation that you're still navigating.
Photographs and Disappearance: The act of taking photographs is symbolic of capturing moments, preserving memories, or freezing time. In your dream, taking a photo led to a disappearance, which might suggest a fear of losing control or the fear of losing something/someone important in your life. The disappearance could also reflect concerns about superficiality or losing authenticity in social interactions.
Fear of Being Photographed: Your fear of being photographed and hiding under the table could represent a desire for privacy or anonymity. It might suggest that you fear exposure or judgment from others, or you wish to keep certain aspects of yourself hidden.
Possession and Exorcism: The possession and your attempt to perform an exorcism suggest themes of control, power, and influence. This part of the dream can be interpreted as a manifestation of your inner strength and resolve, or a desire to rid yourself (or someone close to you) of negative influences that you perceive to be dominating. This might also illustrate a conflict you are experiencing, either internally or externally, that appears overwhelming but can be faced with determination and faith, as symbolized by invoking Jesus Christ.
Name Power and Secrecy: Names hold power in your dream, as you advised against sharing your own name to avoid attracting the demon's attention. This anonymity could symbolize a fear of vulnerability, or a protection of your identity and essence from forces you perceive as threatening. Your insistence on not sharing your name could point to an instinct to safeguard your personal integrity or your unwillingness to be consumed by external identifiers.
Overall, your dream combines elements of spirituality, identity, and self-defense against negative influences. It reflects a sense of vigilance and the need for protection, as well as a reliance on internal strength and spiritual belief as a source of empowerment. It also poses questions about your relationships and how you perceive external judgments and influences. While it wasn’t experienced as a nightmare, the dream imparts a feeling of strangeness, perhaps indicating something unresolved or mysterious in your waking life that your subconscious is trying to process.
